Scentsy Spirit

Getting In The Spirit!

KEEP MOTIVATED

I like to do things to encourage myself to stay in the Scentsy Spirit. There are months that all consultants have that aren't as "good" as others, or months that you have set goals and were so close to making, but didn't quite get there.

I want everyone to understand that this is NORMAL! In any business there are ups and downs, accomplishments and failures. This is all part of the learning process, and of course, its reality.

You cannot beat yourself up for the hard times... if you do, you will stress yourself out, and become unmotivated to keep going.

INSTEAD - you need to take those moments and turn them into something positive, use them as a learning experience and try to understand what didn't work, and change it so it DOES work!

I keep myself thinking positively by doing small things in my life that keep me, and those around me, motivated!

Things such as the fact that I have my Scentsy scent circle in my car, its right there in front of me, and I see it every time I get in to take a drive.

The Scent Pak I have sitting on my desk at work.

The plug-in warmer that I have warming in the bathroom at work for all of my ladies.

Not only am I sharing my business and the Scentsy experience, I get to see and smell these things on a daily basis which keeps my mind on my goals.

Simple things like this keep your mind on track even if you don't realize it.

I have also been known to do, what some people would call "silly", things to keep myself motivated.

I do things like paint my nails bright purple, or bright green ... or even both! (Scentsy Colours).

I find the simple things, that work and mean something personally, keep you motivated!

My most recent motivation endeavor was this:

YES, I now have PURPLE hair! It was nerve wrecking but also super exciting.

JUST IN TIME FOR SPRING SPRINT 2014!

(No I didn't plan it like that, but it worked out perfectly!)

You have to do what it takes, in your own way, to keep yourself motivated through the speed bumps of running your own business.

In Between Seasons

The 5th Season

https://brittanygerrity.scentsy.ca/Scentsy/Home

So I've been discussing lately with friends and family the concept of the "Winter Blues". I, myself, and feeling them and it's driving me a little stir crazy. I feel as though winter is dragging on, and the -40 weather we've been dealing with, along with those 10ft high snow banks are not helping.

I am longing for those long summer nights, swimming, hanging out by the campfire roasting DELSIH s'mores, banana boats, and of course spider dogs.... Reality is, we have a LONG way to go before the snow disappears. Especially where I live in Southern Ontario, Canada.

This is when I started to think of how I describe this time of the year. We have just gotten over the holidays with friends and family, the trees are down, and the sweets are eaten up. So, its time for us to look ahead and think about what's in store for 2014. This is the perfect time of the year for renewal... a time to just refresh. The 5th Season...

Scentsy Fragrance plays a huge role in my life around this time of the year. The power of scent is truly amazing. I thought to myself... The fact that I am "stuck" inside, so to say, shouldn't turn my smile upside-down. I am putting my hand up to the winter blues and saying BYE BYE! So I say it's time to put those cinnamon and heavy winter smells away that keep reminding me that winter isn't even HALF way over, and bring on something that is clean and refreshing (Although I'm not quite ready to bust out my spring and summer scents yet).

I am going to suggest to all of those around me to choose scents that encourage environments to become calming, relaxing, and also fresh. Something that boosts the mood and gets you feeling energized even though outside isn't looking so bright....

My personal suggestions would be something along the lines of the following Scents:

Mellow Moment

Enjoy a soothing sip: delicate chamomile tea leaves sweetened
with a touch of apple and orange blossom.

I can say that these are my top picks for the "5th Season" and have all, in their own ways, helped me overcome some of those days when you really feel the "winter blues". Although there are many other calming and relaxing scents available, because I could list a ton of them, these are my personal top 5. If you have any questions, or would like to get my personal recommendations on other seasonal scents, please don't hesitate to ask!
