Hey Scentsy Friends!!

There have been videos flying around YouTube with an Independent Scentsy Consultant TAG

Although I haven't yet done my video version of this (soon to come I promise!) I thought I cold still share with you my answers to the TAG questions :) 

Oh and by the way, you might be thinking that this is probably going to take longer to type out than it would have been to just do a video in the first place... And you're probably right... Lol 

The reason that I am doing this version now is because my Scentsy office is in shambles at the moment... In the middle of redoing my Scentsy space ... So I don't have a good place to film it at the moment! NEW OFFICE ARRIVES TOMORROW .... YAYYYYY!!

Anyway getting on with it lol

Question 1: What's in your Scentsy warmers right now?

Answer: my bedroom has Zen Garden, my upstairs bathroom has Lilacs & Violets, my daughters room has Newborn Nursery, my kitchen has Mochadoodle, my dining room/where my office is going has Mystery Man, my living room also has Mystery Man, and my downstairs bathroom has Simply Irresistible

Question 2: What is your all time favourite scent?

Answer: Wow this is a tough one.... Off the bat I want to say blueberry cheesecake because that's the first scent I ever smelled warming, but I have to say that my favourite is probably Happy Go Lucky

Question 3: How many warmers do you have?

Answer: Well I guess question 1 kind of gives this away... But my personal warmers that I use at home, I have 7... To make this answer a little more interesting I will tell you which warmers I currently am using... My bedroom has the Black Zebra Element, my upstairs bathroom has the Taro plug in, my daughters room has the Cupcake, my kitchen has Natures Haven, my office/dining room has the sleek black warmer that I received at Spring Sprint with the 10 years frame, my living room has the lue chevron, and my downstairs bathroom has the whoot plug in 

Question 4: What type of scents do you prefer?

Answer: Hmmm... I can't say I'm overly picky, I like a lot of scents... But if I had to pick I would probably say clean/fresh smells. Now, with that said my opinion on clean and fresh changes lol

Question 5: How long have you been an Independent Scentsy Consultant? OR When did you first discover Scentsy?

Answer: I guess I could answer both of these questions .. I became an Independent Scentsy Consultant at the end of October 2013... But I first discovered Scentsy at the beginning of 2013 at my friends house (which is also where I first smelt blueberry cheesecake)

Question 6: What is the first fragrance you ever warmed?

Answer: The first fragrance I ever warmed was Welcome Home because that's what I was sent in my starter kit :)

Question 7: What is your favourite bath and body/ Layers product?

Answer: My favourite bath & body product would be my daily duo of Sunkissed Citrus shower gel and body lotion... But my favourite Layers product is the Washer Whiffs and Liquid Laundry :) especially in black raspberry vanilla 

Question 8: Do you coordinate according to season?

Answer: Yes and No.... I generally don't change all of my warmers... I might change the one in my office to something seasonal, but other than that my warmers are my warmers and they stay where the are lol ... As far as scents go though, I suppose I do change them according to season.... I guess that's mainly because Scentsy puts out seasonal scents (spring&summer or fall&winter) for their catalogue seasons. So I typically have in my home what is currently available in the catalogue :) right now I have more floral scents and fruity scents... And in the fall and winter I generally have the more cozy scents (cinnamon and pumpkin etc)

Question 9: What scent would you like Scentsy to come out with?

Answer: Hmmmmm... Another tough one... They have everything lol... But I guess something that smells like barbecue haha... I mean if they can duplicate the scent of a tomato vine, or burnt rubber km sure they can get my house smelling like barbecued ribs haha

Question 10: which scents do you want back for good?

Answer: Eucalyptus... Hands down. Love it and so does everyone else I know!

Flyer Handouts

 

Hey!

So with however busy my life seems to get, I thoroughly enjoy running my Scentsy business! It almost feels like a hobby, rather than a job, and that's why I LOVE it!... a hobby that earns me an income??!! heck yes!!

 

I thought I'd share what I've been up to lately!

 

I have found a way to somewhat inexpensively (yet attractively) create mass flyer hand outs that are attracting attention to my business.

 

I use the following:

 

Product Lists - available for Independent Scentsy Consultants in the Scentsy Family Store.
 

 

They Look like this (photo shows both sides):

 

 

So I add my info onto the top, beside the Scentsy Fragrance logo (ALWAYS LABEL EVERYTHING YOU DO) and fold it into thirds.

 

 

Inside of that, I put my own personal flyer... something that I have come up with that explains Who I am, What Scentsy Fragrance is, How to Order, How to Host a Party and the host rewards, and a bit of information on Joining the Scentsy Family

 

So, that is printed on regular paper, and it is also folded into thirds.

 

Attached to my personal flyer is a wax sample... I found on amazon.ca (for $3.25) hard candy molds that enable to me to make 80 scent samples from one bar of wax.

 







 

Now, keep in mind, these samples are small, so it wouldn't be enough to warm in a warmer or anything, but it gives potential customers/recruits the chance to be able to smell and feel the product.

 

I typically use either the Scent of the Month, or I use something from the favourites collection (Such as French Lavender, or White Tea & Cactus).

 

The samples are put into little baggies (I get about 80 bags for $1 at the dollar store ... you can also find them in the jewelry section at wal mart, or your local craft store that sells jewelry making supplies.

 

I also have "Sample Cards" pre made.... Basically its a business card that has "Scentsy Sample" on it, with a line for me to write in the scent name, and then it has my information to contact me. This again, is an extra step that takes a bit of time, but having the sample name written on a card that someone can keep (just in case the sample goes missing) is great because they have my information, as well as the name of the scent!

 

So... The sample gets attached to the flyer, then the flyer goes inside the folded product list sheet, and then FINAL STEP... my Business card gets attached to the very front of that!

 

I know it seems like a huge process, but I am finding that the extra steps and effort that I put into this, the more of a response I have gotten.

 

So Final Product Looks Like This:

 



 

I make 250 of these at a time, it takes me about 2 hours

to complete this all (once I get in the swing of it! lol)

 

PS... I try to do this bi-weekly, if not that, then monthly :)

 

 

 

I had someone ask me how much it costs for me to do this.... The initial cost is a bit higher, because you would need the candy mold(s), the business cards, etc. which are all optional, of course.

 

 

So if I do the math on this and how much it costs me... it costs approx. $0.15 per flyer, plus the initial supplies.

Happy Valentines Day!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY

What's the first thing that pops into your head when you think of Valentines day candy?

 

 

CHOCOLATE?!?!.... WRONG-O... I said the same thing, coming from a choco-holic I don't blame you.

 

I'm talking about CANDY though....

 

Perhaps Conversation Hearts??

 

 

 

These iconic candies have been around since 1902, and are made by Necco. Every year Necco adds new sayings onto their beloved candy hearts.
 

This year they have even added "Tweet Me" and "Text Me" - seriously we are so driven by technology these days it sometimes scares me!!
 

 

You're probably thinking what the heck does this have to do with Scentsy?!? ..... here I am rambling on about CANDY... haha..

Well my friends, I found this on the Scentsy blog, and thought it was super fun! Do you remember getting these candies and trying to make sentences or poems with them as a kid?

Scentsy took a spin on this concept, and using the idea of Conversation Hearts to make Scentsy Fragrance sayings and poems related to Valentines day... "CONVERSATION BARS!"

 

I LOVE THIS CONCEPT! So creative!!

 

Here's a super cute example:

 

"I tell myself to Just Breathe when you smile and look into my eyes.

 I feel my soul Awakening when I feel you near me.

The Sheer Innocence of your Wink & a Smile Makes me Quiver with love and longing.

 Our Love Story is beginning"

 

 

 

I know I have fellow Scentsy Fragrance addicts, and I also know they would find this super cute! As cheesy as it may be (I KNOW!).

This also goes without saying, that you never know who may be feeling lonely today... So share a smile with a stranger, and give a friendly hello! Simple words and acts of kindness will go a long way today for some! You never know who's longing for someone to just talk to or share a smile with!
